Race Drone is an app that can only be used in association with the registered users of the Race Drone Website. On the website, users register as participants to specific events; running, cycling, walking, etc. The App sends their location data at specific intervals, using the phone GPS. The website displays the location of all participants in the event on a Google Map, which also shows the route they are taking. The events run for a specific window of time (usually 1 day), after which the event tracking is disabled. The app runs in the background, and it is recommended users set the update time to 15 minutes to maximise battery life. People at home, and race organisers are able to view the event participants locations, which improve race safety (especially in remote locations), and helps with support and logistics. In the app settings, you enter a Username (which must match their website username). They can also change the frequency of updates to the website, to conserve battery life, or set a schedule for updates. When the user clicks Start, the app gets the longitude, latitude from the phone GPS, and send that data, along with the Username, and current Speed, to the website. On the website, the user is displayed as a flag on an event map. After the event, the tracking URL is disabled, so even if the user forgets to Stop the tracker in the app, their location is no longer shared. This app includes a SOS panic button that allows you to make a preconfigured emergency phone number. If you are carrying an iPod Touch or iPad, you can set up the VOIP function so that the emergency phone call is made through VOIP. SIDE NOTE - Only work with iOS 6 or above iPhone (3GS or later) or iPad - Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life
